We’re told life should look a certain way but there are no right or wrong answers, nor a version of you that is the “correct” one. The peace that you are seeking is unique to you and you alone.

Celebrating my 40th birthday in the kaftan of dreams!

Hello! I’m Shanna.

Let’s work together to set you on your path to freedom.

In the last few years I’ve regained the power to be independent again in mind, body and soul. Pain is no longer controlling or dictating my life and I have discovered an authentic sense of freedom.

It took me a long time to realise that the “ideal” life modelled by our society is not the life for me, or indeed everyone. Through acceptance of our circumstances we can create a peaceful, beautiful life that works for us while embracing our individuality and trusting in our intuition.

But let’s go back to the beginning …

When I was 8 years old I developed a rare bone condition that affects my left tibia and remains only partially diagnosed. Throughout my childhood and teenage years the symptoms had a significant impact and I was experiencing pain on a physical, emotional and mental level.

In my early twenties, my condition had seemingly stabilised. I gained independence, contentment and believed my life was beginning to truly take shape. The checkboxes for what I believed the “ideal” life were beginning to get ticked, one at a time.

But then, the knock on effect of my condition on my spine began to take hold, and new diagnoses of chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome weren’t far behind. I went from independence to living with my parents again and as I hit 30 I felt trapped, frustrated and hopeless.

In 2016 came a turning point: I had the opportunity to complete a pain management programme and it turned out to be transformational. I wished I’d had access to something like that when I was younger and was baffled (in fact, I remain so) by the fact it’s often the last port of call as a treatment option for people living with chronic pain.

I also began working with a coach and focusing on my own spiritual practice and, combined with the new pain management techniques, my life began to change in meaningful, powerful ways. In 2021 I was able to return to independent living in London and have continued to see positive shifts in my life.

I had long wanted to make available to more people the knowledge and tools I’d learned on my pain management programme. Combined with my personal interest in self-development and maintaining a spiritual practice, the path of coaching made perfect sense to me. Since gaining my accreditation with Mindful Talent my purpose with coaching has deepened beyond working solely with people with chronic pain: the importance of values and trusting in our innate wisdom as individuals resonates through the work I do with clients for long-lasting and far-reaching impact.
